Bologna Children's Book Fair 2025

Arrive early on Monday morning to the fair, and download the app.

Excellent presentations, but space for some wasn’t adequate... I missed out on a couple because they were so popular (good!) that I couldn’t get near enough to see or hear what was being said and shown. (Bad.)

The Digital Cafe and Illustrators Presentations in Hall 30 were very interesting and insightful. Due to popularity I hope these venue areas can be expanded since many presentations were standing room only events.

It was a giant fair with a cornucopia of different relevant people and company's for a debut author such as myself. I hope that just one of the many promising contacts I managed to establish will be able to publish my work abroad.

There should be many more ladies toilets and places to get a quick snack. Far too many queues every day. I had back to back meetings and couldn't wait in line. Very poor.

I had a very productive time and had 19 meetings in two days. It was lovely to catch up with my clients from all over the world and to see my artists books displayed on many stands. One thing could be improved and that is the Ladies toilets.

Perhaps to have a directory board in each hall to list the companies and what product/service they are carrying/providing.

I was happy about the event but not the location of my stand. I was not given any choice and was not offered the same location as last year which was better.

Overall Very good, Thursday was a little disappointing due to the fact a lot of the exhibitors had packed up before lunchtime and some of the talks were a little difficult to hear without amplification. Well done

Beautifully laid out stands and outstanding work to see. Had lots of great meetings with publishers and did good business.

Excellent event, made some exciting contacts and was very worthwhile for our business. I especially loved the illustrator wall.

But we missed (as always) a parking place for visitors (for publishers without stand) and some similar practical things.

Huge variety of stalls which was brilliant. The illustrators competition was disappointing, a complete different feel and style of what was actually being sold and marketed. Out of touch.

Great event, some good trade contacts and easy to manage and get around.

Some useful insights into presenting a portfolio

There was no prior information provided to contact literary agents in advance of the Fair.The Fair would do well to provide resources for new authors to learn and implement use of the programs and exhibitors at the Fair.

loved the range of exhibitors, but wouldnt it be nice to have a pavilion of small independent publishers too.
