Burning the Clocks is an annual community event organized by Same Sky that brings the city together to celebrate the shortest day of the year. People create their own lanterns and parade through the city before placing them in a bonfire on Brighton beach. It is a time for reflection and celebration. This year's event will start at 6.30pm in the center of Brighton near the Pavillion, with fireworks and effigy burning taking place at 7.30pm on Kemptown Beach. Certain areas will be closed to the public. Same Sky receives support from Arts Council England, the Chalk Cliff Trust, and the Ledward LGBTQ+ Community Centre.
