International Conference on Climate Change and Small Ethnic Communities in South and Southeast Asia

"Indigenous People"
The people of small ethnic groups are among the world's most marginalized, impoverished and vulnerable peoples. While they are the worst victim of climate change, they have minimal access to resources limiting their abilities to adapt to and cope with changes. Moreover, the increasing international and national climate change mitigation strategies pose additional threats to their existence. Developing resilience and adaptation strategies for these communities living in Bangladesh and the world require comprehensive understanding and knowledge of their situation in regional, global and respective ecological context. This international conference endeavors to unveil and identify potential risks, appropriate adaptation options and explore indicators of resilience to reduce their risks to climate change and variability from multidisciplinary insights.
