The Institute of Inorganic Chemistry SAS is a leading and renowned institute engaged in facilitating and encouraging advances and innovations in the field of organic chemistry. The institute was founded on 27th June 1953 at a meeting of the Section of Natural and Mathematic Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The institute aims is to facilitate basic research of inorganic and bioinorganic systems aimed at the optimization and development of new materials and technologies Currently the institute is awarded with the title of Centre of Excellence in the frame of the project Centre for materials, layers and systems for the applications and chemical processes in the extreme conditions (MACHINA) by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
