My son attended this event as a 16 yr old eagerly looking for FT work. He said there were almost no exhibitors there and when I have tried to contact the organisers to verify this, I have not not had a response
Go to all the employers/jobs you're interested in and ask all questions that you need the answers to. Get their name cards so you have a contact point in the company. Get all the info materials you need to get to know the company, its services and offers. If your post interest is not in the offer, e.g. administration, finance, accounting, maintenance, all companies require these posts, ask for vacancies in their company for these posts.
Be open to opportunities, do not go with a locked mindset for what you are looking for. Many vendors have multiple roles available, to which you may not have considered that they would have, based upon the type of business/service they run.
This job fair was targeting school leavers ir those seeking unskilled or low paid employment. This was not communicated at any stage, therefore was a complete waste of time for anyone not falling in those categories.
