The Geological Society of America is a prestigious and not for profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the geosciences. The organization was founded in New York in 1888 by Alexander Winchell John J. Stevenson Charles H. Hitchcock John R. Procter and Edward Orton and since then it is remarkably contributing in the field of geosciences. The organization holds a number of conferences seminars meetings and trade fairs in order to promote innovations and advances in the field. The society has six regional sections in North America an international section and seventeen specialty divisions. The organization has also published online-only journal Geosphere.

GSA Southeastern Section Annual Meeting on 31 Mar 2019 guest at retired
jim p;hillips, PhD Reviewed Nongeologist, only did the field trip to Ashely Phosphates...but extremely helpful, well-done, and professional. Thoroughly enjoyed, and will likely get more involved in the meeting presentations, etc in the future.
