The Wilhelm und Else Heraeus Stiftung is a prestigious and not for profit organization engaged in producing conferences, seminars and workshops. Headquartered in Hanau, they hold conferences in and outside the region throughout the year. The organization came into existence in 1963 by entrepreneur-couple Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Heraeus founded (1900-1985) and Else Heraeus (1903-1987). The organization aims to promote and support research and education in the field of the natural sciences, especially physics. The Foundation works closely with the German Physical Society together (DPG). It is regarded as the most famous private conveyor in the field of physics in Germany.
