Since 1989, the Festival takes place in June to promote cultural understanding and act as supporting attractions to tourists coming to Toronto. It has been recognized as one of the signature cultural events in Toronto that promote heritage and arts in this highly diversify region of the Country. It draws over 65,000 visitors per year to Toronto Centre Island. Being one of the most culturally significant and heritage sport events, the Festival includes competitive heritage dragon boat races for .. continue reading all ages and physical abilities, entertainment, cultural and heritage, and tourism enhancement activities. The Festival has been proven to be a valuable platform reaching out to diverse groups of visitors and tourist across the Country and internationally. In 2018, as the Festival celebrates its 30th year, it promises to continue to be one of the most exciting summer events in Toronto. Once again, this year, the Festival will welcome teams and visitors from all provinces across Canada, from the U.S., the Caribbean Islands, Europe and Asia.

Exhibitor will showcase one of the most exciting summer events in Toronto, the Festival values social responsibilities and has in the past raised funds for many reputable charitable organizations.Dragonboat is an exciting sport! Easy to learn but hard to master. Each roster has a minimum of 16 people, maximum of 28, 20 people paddle in the boat at a time and there needs to be at least 10 female paddlers. Except if you are paddling in Sport Open.
