The EUCANCan consortium is highly committed to strengthening community engagement in the field of healthcare data sharing and management. The webinar will be hosted by Dr Lincoln Stein from the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, Scientific Coordinator of EUCANCan’s Canadian branch. “Cancer researchers, cancer patients, governments and health regulatory agencies widely support the sharing of cancer genomics data for research purposes in order to advance the understanding and treatment of this devastating disease. The EUCANCan Project, an EC Horizon 2020 Flagship Project, is testing one such approach to share cancer genomics data among Canada and EU countries. In this webinar, representatives of the project will describe our approach and progress to date, and will invite a robust discussion among participants of the challenges and opportunities of international cancer genomic data sharing.” says Lincoln Stein, lead of the Canadian branch, EUCANCan. EUCANCan’s commitment to strengthen community engagement in the healthcare data sharing field goes hand in hand with its goal to present the first functioning pilot portal that enables data sharing across Canada and Europe before its end-date in January 2023.
