A comprehensive review of the Franchising Code of Conduct in 2023 led to 23 recommendations for change. The Government has adopted 11 of these recommendations in the new Code, keeping the same structure but rewriting many provisions. Changes include simplified disclosure obligations, strengthened termination rights, and opt-out provisions for franchisors.
