The Planet Forward Summit is a premier environmental storytelling conference held annually at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. media. Since its inception in 2013, Planet Forward has engaged more than 23,000 participants, both in-person and online, and has represented over 140 colleges and universities.
A highlight of the Summit is 'Storyfest,' which celebrates the winners of the annual competition recognizing outstanding storytelling in environmentalism. Participants compete in categories such as Most Compelling Character, Most Creative Story, Best Scalable Innovation, Best Science Narrative, and Best Use of Science or Data. The winners are awarded an experiential learning trip with Planet Forward and Lindblad Expeditions, further enriching their education and career opportunities. The Summit also fosters engagement and learning through various events, including webinars and salons, aimed at promoting sustainability and science communication.
