Standards. It is particularly beneficial for processing inspectors, organic handlers, processors, consultants, educators, extension staff, and certification agency personnel. The training also serves as a foundational step for those aspiring to pursue further training as organic inspectors or file reviewers.
Led by experienced organic inspector and IOIA Trainer Garry Lean, the webinar will cover critical topics such as the National List of approved ingredients, both natural and synthetic, as well as requirements for labeling, inspection, and certification. Participants will engage in self-study components, including exercises to be completed before the sessions, allowing them to explore relevant resources on organic processing inspection. The sessions will feature in-class discussions, practical examples, exercises, and a Q&A segment to enhance the learning experience. To assess individual learning outcomes, the course will conclude with an exam. Successful participants who meet the minimum requirements will be awarded an IOIA Certificate of Completion for NOP Organic Processing Standards Training, while those opting out of assignments or not passing will receive an IOIA Letter of Participation to acknowledge their attendance.
