The Subcommission of Devonian Stratigraphy and IGCP 652 will hold its annual meeting to document and study astrochronology and Devonian rocks. New York State has been a focal point of Devonian studies for centuries. Before the meeting, two field trips will explore the Upper Devonian geology in western New York and nearby states, as well as the Lower and Middle Devonian geology in the central and eastern parts of the state. The field trips will highlight various features such as the Devonian-Carboniferous boundary, clastic strata in northeastern Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania, offshore clastic-dominated strata in western New York that contain the Middlesex event, Rhinestreet event, Kellwasser bed equivalents, and the Frasnian-Famennian boundary.
