The lecture, titled "‘Race,’ Racism, & Representation in Roman Art: Aethiopians in the Visual Arts of the Roman World," will be moderated by Sophie Crawford-Brown, Assistant Professor of Art History and Director of the Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations Program. It will take place at Fondren Library, Kyle Morrow Room (3rd fl) on October 26th at 4:00pm. The lecture is free and open to the Rice community and the public. It is co-sponsored by the Department of Modern and Classical Literatures and Cultures, Center for African and African American Studies, and Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations Program.
