In hemophilia B, an absence of clotting factor IX leads to a failure to facilitate and stabilize the primary platelet and fibrin plug that initially forms a clot. As a result, patients will experience prolonged bleeding. Despite recent improvements in treatment options, however, hemophilia B continues to have a significant negative impact on patients' health-related quality of life. Gene therapy for hemophilia B has the potential to reduce the treatment burden for patients and their care .. continue reading providers by eliminating the need for regular prophylaxis. This program will feature didactic presentations coupled with a series of panel discussions and audience Q&A sessions, as well as videos to depict pathophysiology and patient counseling case scenarios. This combination of teaching formats will provide an engaging and practical learning environment for medical professionals who care for patients with hemophilia B.
