NYSATE-NYACTE Fall Conference

Society must collaborate to support educators, students, and families to fulfill present and future responsibilities. This year's conference emphasizes the importance of belonging, equity, and excellence for educators. We must use a combination of in-person and remote approaches to foster a sense of belonging, create a welcoming school climate, support professional growth, and adapt to changing needs. Studies have revealed inequities in the education system, challenging existing structures. Teacher quality greatly impacts student outcomes, and our goal is to prepare outstanding teachers. We rely on research to guide us in evidence-based practices, incorporating culturally embedded pedagogies, empowering teachers and students, and addressing students' social and emotional needs. Educators face challenges in local and national debates regarding curricula, materials, and pedagogies.
