The 2020 Minnesota TZD Statewide Conference, originally scheduled for October 20–21 in Duluth, has been modified to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In place of the in-person conference, the 2020 Minnesota TZD Webinar Series will kick off on Tuesday, October 20, with additional webinars to follow. This conference provides a forum for sharing information on best practices in engineering, enforcement, education, and emergency medical/health services and for identifying new approaches to reducing the number of traffic fatalities and life-changing injuries on Minnesota roads. The conference is offered by the Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths Program and the Minnesota Departments of Public Safety, Transportation, and Health. The conference is hosted by the University of Minnesota's Center for Transportation Studies and facilitated by the College of Continuing and Professional Studies. Each year at the annual conference the TZD program gives awards to recognize individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their efforts to move Minnesota toward zero deaths.
