This conference will present research perspectives on the first four years of implementation of the Final Peace Accord in Colombia, signed in 2016 by the Colombian government and the former FARC-EP guerrillas. This conference further will bring international comparative perspectives into conversation to provide an “eagle’s eye” view of implementation processes and trajectories. Panelists will include researchers from the Javeriana University, the University of Notre Dame’s Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, and their affiliates and partners. They will analyze the Colombian peace accord and its implementation, including territorial dimensions, as well as international cases and comparative perspectives, drawing on the voices of academics, scholar-practitioners, and civil society representatives. Composed of researchers and practitioners seeking to promote and facilitate a higher order of integration between these domains, PAM is pioneering innovations in peace process research and real-time monitoring of peace agreement implementation. One of PAM’s central features is the Barometer Initiative in Colombia, which is entrusted with the responsibility for real-time technical support and monitoring of the implementation of the 2016 Colombian Peace Accord.
