Commissioner Franz is committed to ensuring our public lands are healthy and productive, both today and for future generations. Currently serving as the Regional Manager of the Toxics Cleanup Program at the Washington State Department of Ecology, Rebecca has been at the Department of Ecology (Ecology) for 29 years. She was an Environmental Engineer/Cleanup Project Manager for 9 years in the Toxics Cleanup Program (TCP) Southwest Regional Office (SWRO), then served as the Technical Support Unit Supervisor in TCP/SWRO for one year before becoming the TCP SWRO Section Manager in 2001. Rebecca is a licensed Civil Engineer and a licensed Hydrogeologist. Prior to coming to Ecology, Rebecca was an environmental consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area for 5 years. Rebecca has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Idaho.
