Important Class Information We are now offering on-line classes due to COVD increases in Indiana. We will contact each person with the correct link to access this training. Classes are evidence based and offer a motivational interviewing approach. Each student is treated with respect and dignity. Each facilitator is aware that making 'bad' choices is something that we have all done and it does not represent the totality of the student. What classes offer: This class is based on the Motivational .. continue reading Interviewing approach. Participants will be exploring the choices they are making and the results of those choices. A portion of the class is based on environment, genetics and choices. We also investigate (according to the latest research) the way drugs/alcohol can impact the brain, the body and our environment, thus having a significant impact on one’s choices. The remaining class time focuses on each individual’s plan of action. While learning ‘triggers’ and past coping strategies, the students will learn how to minimize or eliminate those triggers and how to develop alternative coping strategies. Research indicates that students who have engaged in learning this information are much more likely to make better choices thus significantly reducing risk of re-offending.
