A webinar presented by the IBA Environment, Health and Safety Committee. The global environmental crisis has become a top concern of governments, .. Read more corporations and citizens alike. A new era of environmental activism is beginning which is forcing corporations to integrate environment protection, and sustainable development more broadly (in line with sustainable development goals), in the core of their business strategies. This panel will explore different types of environmental activism, including legislative, judicial, shareholders and grassroots, and will examine how it is shaping the strategies of corporations, in particular for rebuilding communities and economies in post-Covid era. This was one of the panels that our committee had originally decided to present at the suspended Marrakesh Conference. The active role that all types of companies have been adopting in addressing environmental matters, not just as social responsibility programs, but as a way of actually conducting business, is worth exploring. We believe this has been even more evident and relevant amid the Covid-19 pandemic and therefore the timing to analyse this matter is perfect.
