However, despite this increase, it faces a multitude of challenges such as funding shortages, and an ageing and growing population, which are amplified by widespread staff shortages and high turnover A major challenge is violence towards NHS Staff, the NHS Violence Reduction Strategy arose in 2018 in the face of worrying trends showing an increase of incidences of violence towards NHS staff.
