This new virtual symposium (Global Inorganic Discussion Weekdays or GIDW, for short) brings the inorganic (organometallic, main-group, materials, .. Read more etc.) The name, GIDW is an homage to the popular regional conferences known as Inorganic Discussion Weekends that occur routinely in the US and Canada (and around the world with other names). To overcome scientific isolation and to celebrate advances in inorganic chemistry, we recently proposed this new initiative (GIDW) on Twitter, which was met with great enthusiasm. The first GIDW session on March 29th, 2020 was a tremendous success with an audience of >200 participants!. This seminar series brings together 1 established researcher, 1 early-career researcher, and 1 PDF/PhD student each Monday under a common scientific umbrella. These talks are divided as follows: 40 mins for established researchers and 20 mins for ECRs and PDFs/PhDs; 5 mins additional time are provided for audience questions. These lectures are all hosted on Zoom; participation is as easy as clicking on a link!.
