Read more the Institute for Diplomacy and International Governance. Dr Katharine A. M. Wright is Senior Lecturer in International Politics at Newcastle University. Her research and teaching focus on gender and security, including at NATO and in EU foreign and security policy. Her co-authored monograph NATO, Gender and the Military: Women Organising from within was shortlisted for the 2020 BISA Susan Strange Book Prize. In addition, her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals including: International Affairs, JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, and the British Journal of Politics and International Relations. She is Chair of the International Studies Association (ISA) Committee on the Status of Women (2020-22) and lead convener of the UACES Research Network 'Gendering European Studies' (2018-22).
