The collaboration between Dean Margaret Goggin and Jacob L. Chernofsky led to the creation of the Out-of-Print and Antiquarian Book Market seminar. The seminar aimed to bridge the gap between librarians and book dealers by sharing methods, procedures, and problems. The first session was held at the University of Denver with 25 participants. Due to high demand, enrollment was limited to 100 people and a waiting list was common. The seminar, also known as "the Denver Seminar," was a success and at one point, two seminars were held each year, including one at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
