The Renfrew Center Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders®, also known as UT, highlights the importance of courageously approaching rather than avoiding emotional experiences. This webinar will provide a review of Renfrew’s UT skills, discuss the role of mindfulness in tolerating difficult emotions as well as how to “ARC it out” during a time of distress. Attendees will be prompted to reflect on short-term and long-term consequences of emotion driven behaviors (EDBs), learn how to use cognitive reappraisals to increase flexibility in thinking patterns and discuss how to break the cycle of avoidance.
