Leadership and education are two of the most endlessly stimulating and fraughtly debated topics in human relations, increasingly recognised as .. Read more connected in many ways, and both with limits to scalability; fundamentally, both draw their power at the level of personal relationships. Much focus is on the traits of the leader/educator/mentor/influencer and the effects on those nurtured. Perhaps less considered are the effects of influencing on the nurturer themselves, and the synergies between acts of nurturing service and ability to serve in this way. This webinar will draw on personal reflections based on interpersonal interactions in diverse contexts, and informed by wide reading on these rich topics, to explore some of the attitudes, values and practices that appear to be beneficially constructive in leadership, education and mentoring contexts. Aimed at academics and senior personnel within industry keen to explore how to be effective in nurturing talent. The talk will present a personal reflection, drawing on management and leadership literature, on elements of values and practices that appear to be well received and effective in helping others grow and develop.
