The 2020 Annual Surgical Simulation Summit—the Annual Meeting of the Consortium of ACS-accredited Education Institutes organized by the ACS Division of Education—could not be held in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Scientific papers from this summit that focused on advances in simulation-based surgical education and innovation were presented virtually during three consecutive Wednesdays in October/November 2020. Each session was well-attended and offered the opportunity for members of the ACS-AEI Consortium and leaders from the field of simulation-based surgical education to connect, engage in productive discussions and benefit from the collective wisdom and expertise of the group.
