The goal of this educational webinar is to introduce the audience to induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and the ways in which they are being used .. Read more to advance basic and applied medical research. Dr. Nityanandam will talk about ways to generate and characterize iPSCs, and show examples of their successful application towards addressing biological questions. She will specifically focus on how her lab is trying to use iPSCs to recreate different regions of the human brain in a physiologically relevant three-dimensional format. And how they have applied these brain models to understand disease biology. Dr. Nityanandam will also delve into the challenges in the field and the quality control measures that seem necessary to improve reliability and reproducibility of data.
