Cell Symposia Express: 20 Years of the Human Genome: From Sequence to Substance September 22, 2021 | 12 pm ET / 9 AM PT. We facilitate connections, .. Read more spark new insights, and pave the way for cross-disciplinary collaborations with an engaging, highly interactive forum. Twenty years after publication of the first draft human genome sequence, scientists have made enormous strides in decoding who we are, where we came from, and in understanding genomic variations that underlie health and disease. This Symposia Express will celebrate the immense progress made in sequencing and understanding the human genome over the past two decades, while simultaneously looking forward to the work left to be done to unravel its vast complexities, variability, and role in global health. This Symposia Express will bring together leading scientists to discuss major milestones of human genome research over the last 20 years, as well as the latest research in human genetics and genomics. The meeting will span advances in sequencing and genomics technologies, the cataloguing of global variation in genome sequence and gene expression, and insights into the genetic etiology of human development and disease to prospects for predictive or interventional genomic medicine. • Genetics of the human condition—insights into human biology and genetic variation • Genetic variation in human health • Human genomic research — past and future.
