The aging of the population, its greater perception of the value of health and the greater capacity to detect diseases are the cause of the increase .. Read more in the demand for health services. The waiting lists are the escape valves before a system that does not give more of itself. There is a shortage of professionals. Bad pay. With a high degree of temporality and with a saturation of patients. To reduce them, what you have to do is put all the resources to work, with operating rooms open morning and afternoon. But that is not enough. Recently, the Manager of the Andalusian Health Service declared that in several Andalusian hospitals there were operating rooms closed due to a lack of professionals, that there were radiological equipment underused due to a lack of radiologists, etc. Today, the pandemic has highlighted the very worrying lack of doctors in almost all specialties. A problem that is difficult to solve and that you have to face up to and act with courage and determination. On this occasion we have brought together a group of speakers, heads of services from the specialties that suffer the most from waiting lists, who will tell us how the pressure was care, in their respective services, before the pandemic and how it has affected waiting lists.
