Covid-19 continues to disrupt health services across the UK, and the effects of Long COVID are fast becoming apparent, research suggests around one in five people who test positive for Covid-19 have symptoms for five weeks or longer. For around one in ten people, they last 12 weeks or longer. The BMA has recently warned that some practices are facing the ‘impossible choice’ of reducing services or letting staff go due to lack of financial support, however, in response the Department of Health & Social Care has announced an additional £150 million in funding which is available for practices to the end of March 2021.
