Asset tracking and management is key to improve and optimise the contribution of a physical asset to the overall success and profitability of the organisation. In order to achieve optimum return on investment from a physical asset and maximise its contribution to the revenue or success of an organisation, organisations need to have real time visibility into Assets. This assumes special significance in case of Smart Factories since IoT deployments can have a significant impact on asset management and maintenance as they involve new asset types, leading to introduction of big data that teams need to prepare for if the implementation is to be successful.
