The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the acute limitations in the current shipping legal and regulatory framework. Indeed, even as the IMO announced that the 2021 World Maritime theme should be "seafarers", there have emerged so many other concerns for those with a vested interest in maritime law and policy. From a sustainable shipping strategy to technology and innovation in commercial practices, and, from a looking forward maritime policy agenda to a reflection of our maritime heritage, there has never been a more exciting time for maritime law researchers to come together and share the fruit of their findings. The London Universities Maritime Law and Policy Research Group (LUMLP) Conference will take place on Friday, 28th May 2021 to serve this purpose.
