Hello and Welcome to SCI:COM 2021!Despite what the past 12 months have thrown at us, it's fantastic to see you here for this year's SCI:COM. .. Read more This year's theme is ADAPT, something that we've all been doing quite a lot of this year. We'll be exploring the failure of science communication in the pandemic and how research is being adapted on a population level to society's needs. We'll discuss anti-science movements and how we'll need to change our sci-comm to adjust to misinformation. We'll hear of European-wide projects that succeeded while sharing our own little failures. And most of all, we'll be giving you a chance to learn, network, engage and share your perspectives. While it would have been great to greet you face to face, we're excited by the opportunities of going virtual. This platform gives us great power to share ideas, meet new people and steer the conversation. For example, our themed chat-only “HiveMind” sessions allow you to ask and share questions, advice and experiences with a large group of counterparts and colleagues. Think of it as a mini-Twitter, except all of the people online are science communicators and everybody's friendly! We'll also be doing a live capture of all references within a talk or session.
