Metal injection moulding manufacturers are today looking at the possibilities offered by 3D printing. A focus lies on sinter-based additive .. Read more manufacturing technologies already in use today by some metal injection moulding companies. They benefit from their existing equipment as well as from the associated know-how for debinding and sintering. The webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the different sinter-based additive manufacturing technologies and explain how additive manufacturing and metal injection moulding can complement each other. The range of application of metal injection moulding and sinter-based additive manufacturing – both methods offering great freedom to realize even most complex geometries- can be extended by green part processing or post-processing of sintered components. The webinar will highlight the possibility of merging several parts in one component and explain how the potential of the two manufacturing technologies can be increased:  Green part processing for instance through lasering and machining, post-processing of sintered parts by applying technologies like hot isostatic pressing, polishing and coating. The involvement of subcontractors at the earliest possible stage of a development is of particular importance for both metal injection moulding and sinter-based additive manufacturing, since only in this way the specific advantages of these processes can be fully exploited.
