DHI will examine Deaf people's lives from the first appearance of communist and totalitarian governments in 1917 in Russia through the collapse of these political systems and the resulting transition period up to 2000. At the end of the Second World War, deaf people were more or less involved into the renovation of their country, even the smallest children helped as much as they could and they all cooperated in solidarity. The world was split into the East, West, and neutral countries.
