The goal of this conference is to educate and empower medical provides to be comfortable in the conduct of sexual health assessments, and to provide current best-practices for assessments that are sex-positive and non-judgmental. Participants will receive information about gender-identity and sexual orientation, and the unique concerns of the LGBTQ+ patient community. In addition, participants will receive updates on the most current interventions and therapies to prevent and treat STI's and HIV. The intended participant is the primary care or infectious disease provider who wants to enhance their skills in conversing with patients about sex and sexuality, and the medical issues associated therewith.
- Engage patients and clients with sexual health assessments that are non-judgmental, sex-positive.
- Assess your patients and clients for PrEP to prevent HIV, and prescribe PrEP to sexually active patients.
- Identify and treat STI’s including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis and understand ongoing STI and HIV prevention protocols.
