More than just a craft show, this is creative day out for all the family with hundreds of designer-makers, masterclasses, workshops and spectacular craft demonstrations. Featuring the best of contemporary and traditional craft from jewellery-making, ceramics, studio glass, art, woodworking, designer fashions and textiles to bodging, besom making and cider pressing, Living Crafts celebrates an inspiring range of craft. The ‘Art in Herts’ marquee will be buzzing with activity giving visitors .. continue reading the opportunity to meet enthusiasts from amateur art and craft groups from across Hertfordshire, who are keen to recruit new talent! National and regional organisations will also be represented at the show with spinning and weaving, marquetry, quilting, embroidery, machine knitting and photography. Members of the British Woodcarving Association will be creating intricate designs and Alban Lacemakers will be making traditional bobbin lace. Bringing traditional crafting skills to life, the Living History Village will be a reenactment of ancient techniques, offering an insight into the importance of craft in daily life. A brass band and traditional Maypole and sword dancing add to the festival atmosphere at the weekend.
