Integrating Human Factors into the Design and Operations Risk Framework


During this Masterclass, participants will discover the real challenges that face the Executive Management team and their senior HSE design and operations’ professionals, in building the organizational capabilities necessary to reduce the risk associated with human competence weaknesses to As Low as Is Reasonably Practicable, ALARP. The key industry sectors covered will be the upstream, mid-stream and downstream oil, gas, petrochemicals and related business segments. The course will describe the best practices in the development of competency management systems and how management can identify of the types of human error and pre-conditions that increase the likelihood of error occurrence. The Masterclass will also cover several critical design and analysis tools that must be applied such that the ergonomic aspects of the human-machine interface are engineered to promote consistent safe behaviour.
