I learned that the latest research in neuroscience confirms what good relational, sensitive, and successful teachers have done instinctively for decades. (e.g. Yesterday, as a substitute music teacher, a tried out a 2-minute strategy that was confirmed by brain imaging; it was a warm-up activity which simply asked students to volunteer a few positive statements about the subject, class, school, their teacher, etc.). I visibly saw their eyes, (brains), and body language fire-up, which set the tone for the rest of the class.) P.S.: I needed as much help as possible, since I normally don't teach music, and volunteered at the last minute to step-up to handle an emergency sickness. I have taught ELD/ Bilingual Education/ Spanish, for more than 22 years. Thanks for the General & Special Education ConferenceSincerely,Virgil Ruiz

I loved the seminar! I would only recommend classes take breaks at alternate times so the break area isn't so full!
