The IEEE Virtual Reality conference has been the leading international platform for sharing research on virtual reality (VR) since 1993. Similarly, the IEEE Symposium on 3D User Interfaces (3DUI) began as a workshop in 2004 and is now the top event for 3D user interfaces and interaction in VR environments. In 2018, these two conferences were combined into the IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces, known as IEEE VR.
