The seminar titled "Metallurgical Fundamentals of Heat Treatment" is designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the significance of heat treatment in the metalworking industry. This event will take place at the newly renovated Novotel Muenchen Airport in Munich, Germany. The seminar aims to delve into the relationship
...
between heat treatment, material structure, and material properties, emphasizing how heat treatment processes can significantly enhance the performance characteristics of materials used in various applications.
Led by prominent speakers in the field, including Prof. Ulrich Krupp, Head of the Institute and Chair of Materials Engineering of Metals at RWTH Aachen University, participants will explore the physical and materials science fundamentals of heat treatment. Prof. Krupp brings a wealth of knowledge from his extensive background in high-temperature materials and materials science. Alongside him is Alexander Giertler, a working group leader and lecturer in the Materials Engineering department at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, who also heads the Materials Engineering working group of the VDI Osnabrück-Emsland district association.
Throughout the seminar, attendees will learn about the mechanisms underlying heat treatment processes, variations in heat treatment parameters, and the resulting microstructures. The positive and negative influences on mechanical properties will be analyzed using various heat treatment methods and their applications. Participants will gain insights into assessing the performance and limitations of heat treatment processes, as well as identifying and avoiding potential defects that may arise during these processes. This seminar is essential for professionals and those responsible in the fields of materials engineering and metallurgy, aiming to deepen their knowledge and application of heat treatment in their work.
