engage participants in critical discussions surrounding the purpose, impact, and future direction of martial arts studies. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore themes such as the cultural significance, historical context, and pedagogical approaches of martial arts, among others. The conference welcomes diverse academic contributions, encouraging presenters to submit standalone research papers, thematic panels, or pedagogical showcases that align with the broad remit of the conference.
In addition to the presentations, the Conference will feature two keynote addresses by distinguished speakers, whose topics are yet to be confirmed. An engaging spotlight panel will also launch the academic program, selected by the scientific committee, which is in the process of being recruited. The program is designed to foster collaboration and dialogue among scholars, educators, and practitioners within the martial arts community. Delegates will have the chance to network during a drinks and canapes reception, followed by an informal social gathering at a local pub. A gala dinner is also planned for attendees, with details on the venue and costs to be announced. The picturesque setting of the University of Brighton, adjacent to the AMEX Stadium, provides an inspiring backdrop for this gathering. Attendees are encouraged to secure accommodation early, as options nearby are limited, while central Brighton offers numerous lodging choices. Overall, this conference represents a unique opportunity for stakeholders in martial arts studies to come together, share insights, and shape the future of the discipline.
